Lake Manitoba Narrows Lodge:
Truly Heaven On Earth

Ok, we know that it sounds very clichéd, but ‘heaven on earth’ is what justly describes the Lake Manitoba Narrows Lodge. A simple two hour drive from Winnipeg up north is what brings you to this paradise (for more instructions on getting to the lodge, click here).

Once at the Manitoba Narrows Lodge, there is simply so much to do that you just won’t know where to begin. But before we get into the activities on offer at the Lodge, here is a bit about the Manitoba Narrows Lodge.

1) Accommodation and Facilities at the Lodge: Living in the luxurious accommodation that is provided at the Manitoba Narrows Lodge, you sure wouldn’t realize that you are surrounded by wilderness, untouched virgin lands, and the pristine Manitoba Lake. After you have had the most splendid day of ice fishing at Lake Manitoba, the rooms at the Lodge will be a very welcoming sight. You can choose from standard rooms (with one or two double beds) or from suites that can accommodate 6 people comfortably. For those who are looking for a little more solitude and seclusion, there are the newly constructed Chalets with a choice of 3 and 4 bedrooms.

The chalets boast of a fully equipped kitchen, which has all the modern conveniences of home including washers, dryers, and yes! even a microwave oven. But if you are in no mood for cooking, you can try out the Sunset Room at the Lodge or perhaps even the Thingvellir Tavern. The Sunset Room is a restaurant that features dishes which are sure to please even a connoisseur, whereas the Thingvellir is a bar where you can relax and nurse your drink, play a game of pool, enjoy some shuffle board, or sing your heart out on Karaoke nights.

2) Activities at Narrows Lodge: Lake Manitoba Narrows Lodge offers many activities to ensure a fun-filled and adventures stay. Here’s what you can choose from:

  • Trip to Manitou Island: This historic island is where Manitoba got its name from. The lodge offers you an exciting day trip to the island, which can only be reached through water. In addition to offering you some lip smacking refreshments, your guide will also tell you a bit about the island’s history. At the island, you can try your hand at fishing, or maybe just take a walk along many of their breathtaking nature trails.

  • Hunting: The staff at Manitoba Narrows Lodge will arrange a hunting trip to beat all hunting trips. The wild country surrounding the Lodge is home to many black bears, white tailed deer, geese, ducks, and other game bird. The hunting plans provided by the Lodge take care of everything from picking you up at Winnipeg International Airport, to driving you to the lodge, to providing accommodation and meals, arranging for a hunting license, and providing you with a guide. All you have to worry about is taking that shot!

  • Ice Fishing: Ok, so we’ve definitely saved the best for last. Ice fishing at Manitoba Narrows Lodge is so great….well, we’re simply at a loss for words! Walleye, Northern Pike, Trout, Perch…. you name it and Lake Manitoba has it all. In fact, the largest and biggest fish can be found inside a mile of the Lodge itself. To know more, go to Ice Fishing at Manitoba Narrows Lodge.

With so much on offer, the Lake Manitoba Narrows Lodge does sound too good to be true, doesn’t it. We told you so………
